DURATION: 45 minutes
SYNOPSIS: With higher integration of renewables into the network to achieve net zero emission, there is increasing challenge for voltage stability. To compensate capacitive reactive power in a trans-mission line and achieve voltage stability,  shunt reactors are required. A VSR can be tuned to the actual load on the line and meet variations in loads or in generation .This training will cover following topics:

  • Why shunt reactors? Applications & General Design
  • Variable Shunt Reactors (VSR) Introduction & Application
  • VSR Design, Specifications, Testing & Experience
