Hitachi Energy Chongqing Transformer Co. Ltd. is located in Chongqing City. As one of the largest transformer factories worldwide within Hitachi Energy, the company focuses on the design and manufacture of power transformer, shunt reactor and HVDC transformer (High Voltage Direct Current). To date, the Company’s annual capacity exceeds over 50,000MVA.

As a global transformer design center, Hitachi Energy Chongqing Transformer Co. Ltd. is staffed by a dedicated and skilled team of senior engineers and technicians with advanced design concepts. The Design Center, sharing Hitachi Energy’s global transformer design platform and standards, focuses on tailoring designs and solving highly complex problems for customers. It also supports the design needs of organizations within the group in other countries. 

The management system implemented in the Company is also world-class and fully complies with global standards. The Company has been awarded ISO9001: 2015 International Standard Quality System Certificate, ISO14001: 2015 Environmental Management System Certificate, ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System Certificate. The testing center of the company fully complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC17025:2017 "General Requirements for Testing and Calibration Laboratory capabilities". It has obtained the laboratory accreditation certificate of China National Accreditation Committee for Conformity Assessment (Registration number: CNAS L 12933).

Equipped with advanced manufacturing and testing facilities, the Company uses evolving technologies to design and manufacture transformers and shunt reactors, with selective high quality raw materials and components. The quality management system is fully in control and with continuous verification and certification of the capabilities of each person in design and manufacturing, to ensure reliable quality of power transformers and shunt reactors.

The company has world-class transformer design and manufacturing technologies, and keeps breaking historical records in transformer voltage level and transmission capacity. Up to date, the Company has delivered over 1,800 units of power transformer and shunt reactor (over 900 units are 500kV products), including providing power transformers to the Yangtze River Three Gorges Hydro Power Right Bank Substation (840MVA/550kV), Beijing Chengbei Substation (400MVA/500kV, one of the key projects for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games), Tibet power grid interconnection project (the highest altitude power transmission line), and the first 10GW/±800Kv UHVDC power transmission line, as well as the first ±1100kV UHVDC power transmission project, which set new world records on voltage level, transmission capacity and distance. Furthermore, the products have been exported to overseas markets in 20 countries and regions , such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Australia.

The company is also the Asia Pacific Regional Center for insulation kits, and supplies first-class insulation kits for transformer manufacturers within Hitachi Energy as well as for third party transformer manufacturers.

The UHV test hall is well equipped with facilities for dielectric tests of transformers and reactors up to 1000kV AC and 800kV DC voltage level. This greatly improves the manufacturing and testing capacity of the Company.

The Company has favorable advantages to transport large power transformers. It's connected with Chongqing’s important dock – Jiulongpo by a sixteen-kilometer special road built for heavy transportation. Through the gold transportation channel – Yangtze River, as well as the modern railway network of China, our transformers can be delivered to the world with safe transportation.
