Investing in early careers programs

Early careers is not just about giving either current students or recently graduated students relevant learning experience, it's really about attracting our future leaders, and for our industry specifically, trying to find talent who is passionate about sustainable energy and ultimately wanting to leave the planet better than we found it.

At Hitachi Energy, we are building up a very important early careers program with all different types of positions

Both locally and globally, from internships, to apprenticeships, to entry-level and graduate programs, like our Power+ Graduate Program. Our mission is to help our students and graduates work with purpose right from the very beginning by taking on real projects that are impactful, meaningful, and challenging.

Power+ Graduate Program

Today, I’m speaking with two very talented individuals who are currently in their second rotation of the Power+ Graduate Program here at Hitachi Energy in North America –  Ariel Abudu and Martin Roman.

Ariel Abudu

This is my eighth month with the company. I started in June for my first six-month rotation, and now I'm currently in my second rotation. I went to the University of Houston where I got my degree in Industrial Engineering. I decided to go to the University of Houston specifically because it wasn't too far from home and because it’s the #1 most diverse school in the country – and diversity was super important to me going into college.

Martin Roman

I went to the University of Houston as well and graduated the same semester as Ariel. I’m also a part of the Power+ Program, which I started in June. So, I’ve been with the company about eight months and I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I chose Houston mostly because it allowed me to stay close to family, which is one of the most important things for me.

Speaking of our early careers program, we are hiring!

You don't have to be an engineer or necessarily in a STEM field to be a part of our early careers program. We have openings for all types of positions, including project management, HR, finance, marketing, and a lot more.
