HVDC & FACTS Service Engineer

At HVDC and FACTS Service in Oslo, we have an open position for a Service Engineer. Whether you are an experienced engineer or a recent graduate, we invite you to join our team of technology pioneers. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most complex technical energy transmission systems, which are well-adapted to various applications, including renewable energy transmission.

The Opportunity

As a Service Engineer, you will work with the Norwegian installed base of HVDC and FACTS systems, both onshore and offshore. You will collaborate closely with our customers on critical infrastructure projects. Our team primarily focuses on the control and protection systems specific to HVDC and FACTS, but we also provide services for the primary components of these installations.

HVDC and FACTS are unique and complex transmission systems, and many of our experts are among the world leaders in this field. This dynamic role involves significant customer interaction.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Perform activities on control systems as per customer requirements, which includes HMI, MicroScada.

  • Advanced troubleshooting, testing, commissioning and engineering on the Hitachi Energy control systems.

  • Developing and implementing design solutions for our diverse installed base of HVDC and FACTS Control & Protection systems and operational technology.

  • Performing preventive and corrective services on-site.

  • Being part of the mobilization duty team, which may involve short-notice deployments.

  • Contributing to tendering and planning of the execution phase.

  • Working closely with our customers and global experts.

  • If you are a recent graduate, we offer a training period within applicable project at our global center of expertise.

Your Background

  • Higher education, preferably a master’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, IT, or a related field.

  • Fluency in English. Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
