Hitachi Energy showcases digitalization and sustainable solutions at ADIPEC 2024

Hitachi Energy participated in ADIPEC 2024, the premier event for the energy industry, from November 4-7 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Demonstrating its commitment to advancing a sustainable energy future for all, Hitachi Energy presented cutting-edge innovations in digitalization, digital grids, and SCADA systems that support the decarbonization goals of the UAE and the wider Gulf region. The event, a key global platform for energy dialogue, brought together industry leaders and innovators from around the world to explore solutions to climate change and the energy transition.

Speaking on the significance of Hitachi Energy’s role in the region, Dr. Mostafa AlGuezeri, Managing Director of Hitachi Energy for the Gulf and Maghreb, emphasized the company’s mission to drive sustainable infrastructure. “ADIPEC 2024 provided an excellent venue for us to demonstrate how our advanced technologies, such as digital substations and digital grids, enable a sustainable energy infrastructure. Through these solutions, we are supporting the Gulf region's transition toward renewable energy and contributing to their 2050 Net-Zero objectives,” he noted.

Among the featured speakers, Noaman Amjad, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, addressed “The Promise of Wind and Solar Energy in the Climate Change Journey.” His presentation at the Decarbonization Theatre focused on how renewable energy integration can drive climate resilience and support the transition to a low-carbon energy future, emphasizing Hitachi Energy's role in making renewables viable for large-scale energy needs.

Bruno Melles, Managing Director for Business Unit Transformers, contributed to the Leadership Roundtable on “Cross-Border Energy Trade: Making Transition Possible,” held in the MEEC Leadership Suite. He highlighted the importance of cross-border energy integration and trade to build a more flexible and resilient energy grid across regions, showcasing Hitachi Energy’s capabilities in providing efficient solutions for such transitions.

Ayman Ismaeil, Vice President – MEA Government & Institutional Relations, contributed insights into the downstream sector in three critical presentations. On November 4, he discussed “Cultivating an Adaptable and Resilient Downstream Workforce.” He followed up with “Advancing Sustainability in Downstream” and “Optimizing Downstream Operations with Smart Manufacturing and Digital Solutions” on November 5. Ayman highlighted the impact of digital solutions on optimizing processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and building a skilled workforce ready to address future challenges.

On November 5, Mohamed El-Fayoumy, Digital Sales Lead for the Gulf & Maghreb, presented “Exploring the Role of Digital Substations in Driving the 4th Industrial Revolution.” His session emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the energy sector, where advancements like digital substations enhance reliability, flexibility, and safety in power systems, thus supporting the industry's broader shift toward digitalization.

On November 6, Hitachi Energy hosted a panel discussion at its booth, focusing on the transformative role of digitalization within the service sector. Moderated by Nour Ibrahim, Service Sales Lead-Gulf at Hitachi Energy, the panel brought together industry thought leaders, including Vladimir Arshinov, Group Chief Technology Officer at Emirates Steel; Vudi Vijaya Kumar, P&D Electrical Maintenance at Emirates Global Aluminium, along with Hitachi Energy’s Jean Licht, Head of Digital & Service-APMEA and Mohamed El-Fayoumy, Digital Sales Lead-Gulf. The panelists shared insights on the critical technologies driving the shift to real-time monitoring, aligning the service sector with broader energy transition goals and reinforcing the industry’s commitment to a sustainable energy future.
