Sr Electrical Design Engineer-Transformers

Typical duties/responsibilities for the role may include, but are not limited to, the following:


Creation of customized designs with high priority on safety design aspects and identification and control of
hazards. Contributes to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process, provides
feedback on design aspects and makes necessary modifications. Optimize designs to meet updated
standards, incorporating new products, components, and functionalities. Creates or reviews engineering
drawings, specifications and plans required by manufacturing.
Defines focus areas/priorities for design to ensure technological excellence connected with other disciplines.
Supports continuous improvement in design tools. Design, analyze, and evaluate systems, products, or
components, requiring a high degree of technical expertise.
Design and develop complex models or simulations and apply advanced computer programs, analytical
techniques or control strategies to effectively meet requirements and resolve problems.
Conduct economic studies and prepare or lead the preparation of specifications, proposals for contracts,
licensing and safety documents, and obtain required approvals.
Works with the customer to shape and deliver design solutions, seeks feedback from engineering teams to
drive and deliver improvement. Establish and maintain relations with key users, local and global developers,
and end users to understand technical issues and set documented requirement for resolutions.
Support Technology implementation with in-depth testing and analysis of design tool output with respect of

accuracy of calculation and reliability of new functionalities.
Introduce new improvements in design systems to improve the optimization to reduce cost and increase
productivity to support DTV initiatives.

Support/Trouble shooting on bugs and fixes in Design tools related issues on end users to support revenues.
Document the design rules in existing design system and develop technical standards with improved
functionality for next generation design systems.
Complexity of Tasks: Requires thorough knowledge of a specific engineering discipline plus an understanding
of transformer design related disciplines to coordinate activities, analyze and resolve problems crossing
disciplines and to develop new concepts for programs. Technical input, recommendations and decisions may
impact the organization's effectiveness and customer relations. Requires ability to interface effectively,
internally and with customers.


Experience in Electrical design & Creo/Solid works/3D CDS system and programming of rules and models is preferred. Experience is transformer design is preferred.
 

Reporting Line: Engineering Program Manager

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in product/system development/Transformer Design or bachelor’s degree Electrical engineering with 5 years of
experience in product/system development/Transformer Design; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments. The experience is Large Distribution transformers is preferred.

The candidate must have an authorization to work in US.
