Hitachi Energy invests over $200 million USD to expand transformer operations in Brazil and address increased global demand
- Part of the $1.5 billion USD transformer investment plan previously announced
- Set for completion by 2028, the investment includes the expansion of existing capacity in Guarulhos and the construction of a new cutting-edge facility

Hitachi Energy today announced an investment of over $200 million USD to significantly enhance its operations in Brazil, as part of the previously announced $1.5 billion USD investment plan to ramp up global transformer manufacturing capacity.
The investment, announced during the celebration of Hitachi Energy’s 70th anniversary in Brazil, is the largest one-time investment ever made by the company in the country the past decades, and will create more than 600 direct jobs. It will include the expansion and modernization of the Guarulhos’ transformer factory in São Paulo and the construction of a state-of-the-art greenfield transformer manufacturing facility, expected to be set up by 2028.
