APMEA HUB - Category Manager Accessories & Digital Devices

We seek for a APMEA HUB – Accessories & Digital Devices Category Manager who will establish a resilient and sustainable sourcing strategy to meet targets on total cost of ownership and supply performance for your area of responsibility, this includes ensuring material quality, material availability, delivery performance and cost competitiveness. You will be responsible for all spend of Accessories & Digital Devices in APMEA HUB which includes the following regions and countries: Asia, Pacific, Middle East, Africa, India & Turkey. In total 16 factories and 10 service units. This position will be based in Tuzla, Istanbul.

Negotiation of contracts and service level agreements is the center of this role, with the goal to provide the best price, lead time, as well as other terms and conditions to the factory’s stages of the projects. 

Your responsibilities

  • Collect spend and detailed factory requirements.
  • Analyze commodity spend, analyze market dynamics and price developments.
  • Compare spend cost development vs market development on total cost of ownership base.
  • Set yearly budgets (spend, cost reduction, payment terms etc.) for your category in line with the BU category strategy in coordination with the HUB Supply Chain Manager and Factory Supply Chain Managers.
  • Negotiate frame- and service level agreements with the suppliers withing your category of responsibility. Allocate volume, sign and monitor that suppliers and factories are honoring the contract.
  • Execute and deliver agreed strategy deployment actions and follow-up on responsible functions and other stakeholders.
  • Measure gaps tender/actuals jointly with controlling, further investigate on root causes and take adequate corrective/preventive measures.
  • Improve tender material costing and run tender specific negotiations where applicable.
  • Run tender/order specific RfQ and negotiations where applicable.
  • Work closely with other functions to initiate, promote and support projects execution to bring value on total cost of ownership, risk mitigation, quality, cash, lead time, material availability.
  • Provide input on price trend to Factory Supply Chain Managers and as input for the commodity guideline and HUB sales bidding processes.
  • Distribute market allocation, pricing, lead times, MOQ, as well as other terms and conditions information to the Factory Supply Chain Managers.
  • Improve on tender and project material costing on demand or where appropriate.  Promote cost breakdown analysis, should costing and run regular benchmarks.
  • Manage supplier relationships within your category.
  • Lead supplier qualification and perform risk assessments. Plan and assign audits to Supply Quality & Development Engineers.
  • Conduct Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE).
  • Scout and research new suppliers.
  • Apply and implement SCM standards, tools and processes in the area of responsibility.
  •  Work closely with other functions to initiate, promote and support projects execution to bring value on total cost of ownership, risk mitigation, quality, cash, lead time, material availability. 
  • Implementation of material cost reduction and risk mitigation projects.

Your background

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in category or supply chain management.
  • Experience from transformer or automotive industry is a plus.
  • Proven skills in negotiation and contract management.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing of transformers and transformer accessories.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the disciplines: finance, supply chain, management or similar.
  • Good understanding in ISO standards, UN ́s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, EcoVadis, REACH, RoHS, FMEA, PPAP and Conflict Minerals.
