Seize this opportunity as an experienced Grid Automation Systems Test Engineer with Hitachi Energy UK. You will report to our Test Manager based full time in our Testing unit in Stone, Staffordshire.  As a power systems engineer, experienced in conceptual and detailed design engineering, you'll provide engineering solutions to the end customer. You will be developing and directing the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans. As well as managing procedures and schedules for completing systems.

You will coordinate integrated testing activities and both review and evaluates test requirements to ensure the test program is completed. Importantly - You will be familiar with: Omicron or Sverker or Megger sustainable energy testing equipment. You will be expected to perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations.

The Role:

  • Represent PSAC on matters associated with protection engineering.

  • Provide technical support to other protection team members as required as well as our sales and tendering team.

  • To act as a focal point for customer approval activities such as Type Registration and project specific design freezes.

  • Provide technical support in evaluating customer requirements and answering associated technical queries during project deliveries.

  • To comply with protection systems design and business processes/procedures.

  • Prepare documentation as required; technical specifications, reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations and design drawings etc.

  • Participate within Internal Kick off meetings to impart experience and knowledge into projects from the start.

  • Conceptual and detailed design engineering - providing engineering solutions to the end customer.

  • Drive Engineering timescales to a minimum, elimination cost of, operate to high quality stamdards thorough project delivery phase.

Your Background

  • Power Systems engineering related education or the equivalent (HNC or BTEC minimum qualification)

  • Strong design and coordination capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Power System.

  • High Technical experience required - with an awareness of 2nd injection test set.

  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external teams and customers.

  • Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry

  • Proven Teamwork and Collaboration skills
