day 1
Wednesday 25 October
14:05 - 14:25 hrs
Tech Table presentation: Grid Technologies and Digitalisation - Co-innovating for A Sustainable Energy Future
Energy transition with accelerated shift to variable renewable power generation and growing electrification in transportation, industry and building sectors is making the power grid more and more complex. At the same time, prosumers are expecting the grid to be more reliable, flexible and resilient for round the clock availability of clean energy. Technologies such as HVDC (conventional, multi-terminal, meshed), green hydrogen power, energy storage (BESS, Hydrogen Fuel based – stationary and V2G), faster EV charging, dynamic reactive compensation (STATCOM), DERMS, Microgrid, etc. are going to play increasingly important role in making the grid smarter and intelligent. The key would be to integrate all these core technologies together with digital technologies such as data science, AI-ML, AR-VR, digital twin, cyber security, etc. for future of energy system of systems. This session will address the approach of co-innovation and co-creation in the technologies to achieve the goals.
