Hitachi Energy the leading technology partner showcased its innovative solutions at the virtual AMEU Convention 2021
Hitachi Energy, a leading technology partner for the utilities industry from generation, to transmission and distribution, was a proud gold sponsor of the 67th Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities (AMEU) virtual Convention held from 10 to 12 November, 2021.
Established in 1915, the AMEU is an association of electricity distribution utilities and commercial companies providing goods and services to electricity distribution utilities in Southern Africa.
At this year’s event, global power and technology leader Hitachi Energy reinforced and showcased its sustainability, digital technology solutions and services through presentations and participation at the virtual expo. This was in line with the theme of sustainability, evolving customer needs and the leading role played by technology.
The products and solutions that Hitachi Energy highlighted for utilities included Lumada Asset and Work Management, EconiQ™ Disconnecting Circuit Breakers, Hitachi Energy’s Mobile Substation and Hitachi Energy’s e-mesh™ PowerStore™ grid forming battery energy storage systems for both grid-connected and off-grid applications.

Dr. Bhaba Das, Lead Digital Business Developer (Asia, Pacific, Middle East & Africa) from Hitachi Energy, presented on ‘Digital Distribution Transformers – A Smart and Economic Way to Manage the LV Network’. Distribution transformers are a key component of a successful electrical grid.
