Co-creating the path to Net Zero at Energy & Transformer Days

Hitachi Energy’s flagship event reunited 400 participants from 50 countries with one goal: Contribute to the energy transition by celebrating technological innovation, collaboration, and the strength of human connections.

Hitachi Energy held the 18th edition of Energy & Transformers Days last week in Rome, Italy. Under the theme “Co-creating the Path to Net Zero,” the two-day event gathered industry experts and stakeholders to discuss the latest trends and challenges in accelerating the clean energy transition.

During his keynote speech, Bruno Melles, Managing Director of the Transformers business unit at Hitachi Energy, announced the company investment of over $1.5 billion to increase the global transformer production capacity by 2027. The announcement was received with great excitement from the audience as the capacity expansion will expedite the company's commitment to meet the accelerating global demand and address long-term customer investments. The capacity expansion will also generate over 4,000 jobs.

It’s a great pleasure to be here in Rome for our flagship event, Energy & Transformer Days, engaging and co-creating with customers and partners coming from all over the world and celebrating the good stories we have in common to drive the journey toward the energy transition together.

Participants from 50 countries around the world, representing multiple sectors, including utilities, renewables, data centers and industries, contributed to a diverse and enriching platform for interaction and debate. The program included keynotes, panel discussions, tech lectures, an engaging exhibition, and testimonies from customers, partners, and distributors who brought their valuable insights to the event. Innovation, sustainability, digitalization, service, and collaboration were some of the key topics addressed during the event.

It is a great honor to be in Rome at our Energy & Transformer Days event, where we are meeting with our customers and partners who share the same passion and vision for a sustainable energy future.

#Trafostar30K Ceremony

This event also featured a special ceremony to celebrate the milestone achieved by Hitachi Energy's power transformers: the successful delivery of its 30,000th power transformer built on the TrafoStar technology platform.

The TrafoStar technology platform, developed three decades ago, unites all the power transformer factories of Hitachi Energy across a standardized system and process of designing and manufacturing. The platform co-founder, Anderjs Gillmert, shared his experience of building this platform and its origins. The announcement of the milestone was made after an introductory and emotive film on TrafoStar.

TrafoStar brings together the best of knowledge and technology at Hitachi Energy to design and manufacture power transformers that stand for quality, reliability, and efficiency.
