Technical Consultant for network planning and HVDC/FACTS integration (f/m/d)

To strengthen our Power Consulting business, we are looking for a Technical Consultant (f/m/d) with relevant expertise in the field of power engineering with a focus on planning of electrical power grids in the context of the energy transition and its impact on transmission grids including the integration of FACTS and high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Network planning studies on national and international projects
  • Negotiating contracts, preparing offers and carrying out studies and consulting projects for national and international transmission and distribution system operators as well as industrial customers in order to support them with current grid-related challenges
  • Good knowledge of grid codes and grid connection processes as well as developments and transformations in electrical supply grids with a focus on system requirements, study and consulting services and verification procedures
  • Preparation of project schedules including cost estimation, resource planning and risk management as part of project management
  • Autonomous coordination and cooperation with Hitachi Energy internal and external partners
  • Autonomous execution of steady-state calculations as well as dynamic and transient simulations
  • Preparing technical reports and conducting customer meetings
  • Profound knowledge in the field of transmission grids incl. integration of HVDC / FACTS

Your background

  • Successful completion of Master's degree or doctorate, e.g. in the field of electrical engineering with a focus on power engineering
  • Good knowledge of relevant network calculation software such as NEPLAN, PowerFactory, PSS Sincal, PSS/E, PSCAD
  • Experience in modeling, simulation and evaluation of steady-state, transient and dynamic system behavior is mandatory
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for project meetings, study reports, publications and participation in conferences
  • Excellent team working skills and interest in working in an international environment
  • Project management skills and willingness to take on responsibility.
  • Autonomous and results-oriented way of working
  • Fluent in spoken and written German and English, Japanese language skills advantageous
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
