Mission statement:

Responsible for administrating, consulting and/or negotiating product/service contracts with external customers. Develops pre-sales contract strategies and works closely with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals/contracts/bid documents. Negotiates contracts that are consistent with business objectives and engages in contract amendments and renegotiation to accommodate scope changes. Ensures fulfilment of contractual obligations from contracting parties. Does not require the incumbent to have legal qualification.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will formulate tender strategy and develop tender execution plan aligned with the Capture Team Strategy, targeting with customer expectations and needs, including commercial setup, internal setup, broad DoW (division of works), reference projects, lessons learned, value proposition, and deliverables.
  • You will be providing guidance and support to ensure the team's efficient and on-schedule task completion. Take the lead and actively drive the Tender Team by Facilitating effective collaboration with key stakeholders across business and geographical boundaries to achieve common goals.
  • You will drive the internal setup and agreements for project execution within BU and Company. Identifying and resolving issues or obstacles that may hinder the team's progress. Ensuring adherence to established processes and procedures. Overseeing the quality and timeliness of deliverables produced by the team.
  • You will be addressing risks in the tender preparation process and owning the Risk Assessment process. Manage and own the Full Cost Model including total price sheet, cash flow analysis. Set a Tender Budget estimate and monitor tender cost development during the bid.
  • You will be managing requirements throughout the tender process and ensuring proper documentation of deviations and clarifications, control, and communication of changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • You will be overseeing the target cost as it relates to the tender strategy, ensuring it is competitive, and monitoring cost-related aspects during the tender process. Present to management Target cost based on client, technology, geography, contract and delivery time schedule
  • You will be leading the works to identify and quantify technical and commercial risks and opportunities during tender phase and execution. Manage the development and execution of mitigation actions and actively managing the risk and opportunity development during the tender execution. Drive the Risk Review preparation process or support the local unit (based on agreement). Arrange booking, populate Risk Review tool, present/support, document and make sure Bid is updated based on Risk Review mandate prior to bid submission.
  • You will align with expert functions (insurance, tax, finance, legal and all internal departments) and ensure their input is integrated in the tender in an appropriate and competitive way.
  • You will be managing performance guarantees, including definition, measurement philosophy, burn-in period and associated LD schemes.
  • You will participate and lead the technical and commercial negotiations plus driving baseline as per mandate compliance. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the tendering & sales process. Provides any necessary support coming from the bid preparation stage to Sales Managers during negotiations and meetings with customers.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree majored in engineering (Electrical background is a Plus).
  • Required sales experience in power industry segment.
  • Proficiency in business level English / Native level Japanese.
