We primarily deliver system solutions for power and utility companies, as well as projects in the transport sector and energy-intensive industries in Norway.

The opportunity

As a Technical Lead Engineer for protection and control systems and substation control systems at Hitachi Energy, you will have an important role in leading the technical work and driving quality, cost management and ensuring the necessary progress. Depending on the project size and complexity, you will also participate directly in the design work.

How you'll make an impact

  • Implementing technical solutions for digital infrastructure for protection and control systems.

  • Configuring protection and control systems and/or local SCADA systems, such as MicroSCADA and RTU.

  • Developing HMI interfaces for substations.

  • Participating in tests, both internally and at customer sites, and collaborating with test engineers.

  • Reporting progress and any deviations to the project manager.

  • Assisting with technical clarifications, risk assessments, and improvement work in projects.

  • Customer contact in connection with tendering work, project meetings, testing, and commissioning.

  • Expect around 50 travel days per year.

Your background

  • Background as an electrical engineer or technical college engineer with experience in relevant fields.

  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-101/104 is an advantage.

  • Experience in protection from power systems and/or experience with SCADA, RTU, LAN networks, and cyber security.

  • Proficiency in a Scandinavian language and English.

  • Focus on HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment).

  • Driver's license class B.

We offer varied and challenging tasks with good opportunities for personal and professional development. You will experience a good and stable working environment where colleagues and leaders care, as well as good working time arrangements with flexibility around overtime and compensatory time off, and competitive salary conditions.

The position is based in Oslo, but other locations (Bergen or Porsgrunn) can be negotiated. You will report to the Engineering Manager on a day-to-day basis and to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager during project work.

For questions regarding the role, you can contact Tommy Nordbäck by email: tommy-kristian.nordback@hitachienergy.com.

We only process applications that are registered electronically with relevant attachments. Hitachi Energy manages critical infrastructure and follows guidelines and statutory security requirements from Norwegian authorities in our hiring processes.
