Mechanical Design Team Lead - Tenders

The opportunity

HVDC is searching for a Team Lead to guide, lead and take responsibility over the Mechanical Design for Tenders. In this role, you will be supporting the department manager with various tasks related to tendering for the Plants Mechanical scope of work. You will also be responsible to provide essential technical support and ensure seamless alignment in tenders, while collaborating with experts to deliver optimal solutions for our customers.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Provide general technical support to tender team members.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in tenders, both technically and commercially.
  • Offer pre-tender support to Sales & Marketing and Bids & Proposals through technical discussions and high-level solutions.
  • Collaborate with base team and product owners/managers to ensure optimal technical solutions.
  • Support resource planning and task distribution within the team.
  • Assist with strategic tender issues, including scheduling, document lists, contractual setups, and work division.
  • Develop and improve tendering methodology and supporting documentation.
  • Stay updated with R&D initiatives and market drivers, and interfacing with internal stakeholders like supply chain management, construction & commissioning, and electrical system design.

Your Background

  • Previous experience from mechanical plant design for HVDC converter station tenders, including the preparation of tender documents and design concepts according to customer specifications, applicable standards, and internal HE requirements. If you have been in a similar leading role, it will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience from 3D modelling of equipment layouts and design coordination with various internal and external disciplines.
  • Experience working with Bill of Quantities and engineering hours cost sheets.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Siemens NX and PLM systems like Teamcenter.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
