Scientist in AI-Driven Power Electronics (f/m/d)

We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in power electronics and power grid applications to join our Research Center in Baden/Switzerland. In an interdisciplinary environment, you will drive cutting-edge innovation and develop new solutions for a wide range of fast-growing applications like HVDC, energy storage systems and renewables like wind or solar. How you’ll make an impact 

  • You innovate: Transform power electronics modeling, design and optimization by incorporating AI and ML
  • You investigate: Perform industrial research in multi-physics modelling and optimization for power electronic systems to create advanced, high-efficiency engineering tools targeting new solutions for power grid applications.
  • You take initiative: Collaborate with a global and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers across research and business units to identify, shape, and solve impactful industrial challenges
  • You collaborate: Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities and vendors
  • You communicate: Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

  

Your background 

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering specialized in Power Electronics or PhD in Computer Science specialized in AI
  • Proven expertise in AI/ML, with a solid understanding of algorithms, frameworks, and extensive experience in Python and relevant software tools
  • Ability to apply AI/ML to engineering problems, in particular in the field of power electronics
  • Experience in power electronics design and modeling. Know-how in power electronics integration topics such as cooling and mechanical integration, insulation, EMC, and grid integration is considered as a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English, team player attitude, initiative and creativity
