"Transforming the future of energy in India," we proudly declared at the Energy Digital World India back in October. With a multimillion-dollar investment, we are set to expand our transformer facilities, adding an impressive 20,000 square meters of production and testing capacity. This expansion will enhance our capabilities for Small, Medium, and Large Power Transformers, as well as Dry Type Transformers, Traction Transformers, and Insulation and Components offerings.
We are thrilled to kick off the year with two significant milestones: the new bay extension for high-density insulation pressboard at our Mysuru facility in Karnataka and the foundation laying stone of the brand-new Transformer Bushings factory at our Halol facility in Vadodara.
During the Mysuru celebration, we were honored to be joined by 15 of our long-term key Channel Partners from India. Their presence highlighted the strength of our collaborative efforts.
This marks a significant milestone in our journey to strengthen our operations in India, which began 75 years ago in 1949. This new extension at Mysuru is an important step in our global footprint expansion plan.
Simultaneously, at the Halol facility in Vadodara, we laid the foundation stone for a new world-class integrated Transformer bushings factory. Scheduled to commence production in 2026, this facility will quadruple India's annual manufacturing capacity of dry bushings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) and Ultra High Voltage (UHV) transformers. Designed with sustainability at its core, the facility is expected to be certified as a green building, underscoring Hitachi Energy's commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
Our success is driven by our amazing team in India, whose dedication and expertise propel our growth. These investments will not only enhance our production capabilities but also create new job opportunities, further contributing to the local economy and community.
This expansion is not just about increasing capacity and meeting increasing energy demands; it is also about contributing to India's net zero ambitions. Our 'Made in India' commitment is stronger than ever, and we are proud to support India's journey towards a sustainable future.
During the Mysuru celebration, we were honored to be joined by 15 of our long-term key Channel Partners from India. Their presence highlighted the strength of our collaborative efforts. Vikram Reddy from Fairy Agencies, one of our key partners, emphasized the significance of this expansion during the welcome address. "The new production line inaugurated at Hitachi Energy, Mysore will be instrumental in reducing imports of transformer press boards into India. It is a step towards making India ‘Atma Nirbhar’ in the energy sector and strengthening the power backbone of our country," he stated.
Together, we are powering a brighter, greener tomorrow.
