Ernesto integrates global and local solutions for an inclusive energy future

I am Ernesto Soressi, local solution owner Europe at Grid Edge Solutions (GES) in Grid Automation unit. 

GES aims to become a technological partner for decarbonization, with a focus on hardware and digital solutions development for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Part of my activity is dedicated to the technical revision of the solutions according to the company's assets, customer's needs, and different national regulations and grid code requirements. As local solution owner, my role is to seamlessly integrate portfolio localization for EMEA and LATAM markets to guarantee the most suitable technical solutions to our client's needs. 

Every day, I have a fantastic opportunity to be in direct contact with clients and work side-by-side with colleagues from different countries and departments, such as Sales & Proposal, Engineering and Global Development. Our main goal is to act as a single team, sharing information, best practices and designing the most competitive and complete solutions for our clients in the booming energy-saving market.

To give an example, the BESS must fulfill the rules for the connection to the national electrical energy distribution grid. Even if the European national grid codes are similar, each country has its own requirements. We need to verify that the solutions fulfill the client's requirements and comply with local regulations. Working on BESS makes me proud to work for a better future for generations to come.

Working and growing together as a team

To cater to the needs and preferences of customers' complex technological plants, we face small and big issues. I am proud every time the team reaches the goal, overcomes these challenges, and deliver the best solution. It means that Hitachi Energy’s expertise and competence are recognized. To give some examples: how to squeeze high power and energy requirements in a small area available? Or how to manage the extremely different ambient conditions present in the Nordic Island or in the middle of a desert?

Together with customers and partners we are taking another step towards a sustainable and flexible energy future.
