The vocational apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy

Together with our training partner libs, we provide you with a first-class start into the professional world. All apprentices are employed by libs and are assigned to a partner company from the beginning of their apprenticeship.

Technical apprentices receive a sound basic training at libs during the first two years of their apprenticeship. The second half of the apprenticeship is spent in various departments at Hitachi Energy. This training model guarantees variety and diversity.

Commercial and logistics apprentices complete the entire three-year apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. There are various tasks to explore at different apprenticeship sites.

Our Apprenticeships

Automaticians

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Locations: Baden, Baden-Dättwil, Lenzburg, Turgi, Wettingen and Zurich-Oerlikon
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible    

During the four-year apprenticeship to become an EFZ automation technician, apprentices gain exciting insights into the fields of control engineering, power distribution, electrical engineering, process engineering and industrial automation.

In the first two years of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical basics of automation at our training partner libs. Subsequently, the skills learned can be deepened and expanded in the third and fourth years of apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. At Hitachi Energy, for example, control and automation solutions are designed, technical documents are drawn up or systems are built for specific orders.

During their apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Commercial Administration

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Training profiles: B / E / M
  • Locations: Baden, Lenzburg, Zurich-Altstetten and Zurich-Oerlikon
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible

During the three-year apprenticeship to become a commercial clerk EFZ, apprentices work in various commercial areas of Hitachi Energy and thus gain a broad overview of the different business areas and departments. In addition to administration, this also includes finance and accounting, purchasing or shipping.

Due to the annual change of teaching stations, the apprentices work in a total of three different teams. This means that they can become specialists not only in one, but in three commercial areas. Commercial apprentices take on a variety of tasks, mainly in administration: For example, they write letters, protocols and contracts, in the native language and in foreign languages, prepare reports, work out concepts, advertise products, advise customers, make agreements with suppliers, keep the accounts or compile statistics. Through these various tasks, KV apprentices have the opportunity to acquire skills in using a wide variety of computer programs.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1-2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Computer Science Technicians

  • Duration: 4 years

During the four-year apprenticeship to become an EFZ computer scientist, apprentices develop, test and maintain IT solutions. Depending on whether the specialization of application development or system technology is chosen, the areas of responsibility differ.

In the first year of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical basics of IT at our training partner. Subsequently, the skills learned can be deepened and expanded in the second, third and fourth year of the apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. As an IT specialist with a focus on application development, apprentices help develop and maintain applications for our products or customer orders. Computer scientists with a focus on systems engineering support the maintenance of hardware and networks and also have direct contact with customers.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Constructors

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Locations: Baden, Lenzburg, Zürich-Altstetten und Zürich-Oerlikon

During the four-year apprenticeship to become an EFZ design engineer, apprentices work as part of a team to develop and create individual parts or assemblies for machines, systems or products. 

In the first two years of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical fundamentals of design at our training partner libs. Subsequently, the skills they have learned can be deepened and expanded in the third and fourth years of their apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. Here, for example, the apprentices create manufacturing, assembly and testing documents for customer orders and work out the necessary production data.

During the apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend the vocational school 1-- 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Electronic Technicians

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Locations: Baden, Lenzburg, Baden-Dättwil und Zürich-Oerlikon
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible    

During the four-year apprenticeship as an electronics technician EFZ, apprentices develop and implement electronic devices or systems as part of a team. They carry out measuring and testing work and are responsible for commissioning or maintenance work on electronic devices.

In the first two years of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical basics of electronics at our training partner libs. Subsequently, the skills learned can be deepened and expanded in the third and fourth years of the apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. The apprentices participate in the processing of orders or projects or assist in the planning and monitoring of manufacturing processes for electronic products.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend the vocational school for 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

ICT specialist

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Locations: Lenzburg and Baden
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible     

During the three-year apprenticeship as an ICT specialist, apprentices ensure that devices function smoothly and advise employees on technical problems in dealing with internal technologies. They also configure software, install new systems and network computers and other devices.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1-2 days a week to learn the theoretical basics of the apprenticeship.

Logisticians

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Locations: Baden, Lenzburg and Zurich-Oerlikon
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible

During the three-year apprenticeship as an EFZ logistics technician, apprentices are responsible as part of a team for the transport, storage and professional distribution of goods.

By working in one or two teaching stations, apprentices have the opportunity to get to know all areas of logistics in detail. With the help of digital storage and transport systems, they accept delivered goods, check them and book the goods in the system. In the second year of their apprenticeship, apprentices complete training as forklift drivers so that they can also store the delivered goods independently.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Media Technician

  • Duration : 4 years
  • Locations : Baden
  • Vocational school : 1-2 days
  • Vocational qualification : possible

During the four-year apprenticeship media technicians plan, design, communicate and implement your ideas for analogue and digital marketing. They use means of communication in a targeted manner and develop designs, create layouts and prepare them. This includes film, music or sound recordings as well as photo material. They are also responsible for usability on websites. Media technicians carry out simple projects independently and take over the steps from planning to completion. Media technicians are also responsible for communication in the company and carry out administrative tasks.

In the first year of training, the apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical basics of the apprenticeship from our training partner. The skills learned can then be deepened and expanded in the second, third and fourth year of training at Hitachi Energy.

During the training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend the vocational school 1-2 days a week to learn the school-based basics of vocational training.

Plant operator 

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Locations: Lenzburg
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible     

During the three-year apprenticeship to become a plant operator, apprentices operate and continuously monitor plants and production lines. Plant operators are also responsible for the repair and maintenance of machines, they take the necessary measures to rectify faults and malfunctions and optimize plant productivity.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend vocational school 1-2 days a week to learn the theoretical basics of the apprenticeship.

Polymechanics

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Locations: Baden, Klingnau, Wettingen, Zürich-Altstetten und Zürich-Oerlikon
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible    

During the four-year apprenticeship as a polymechanic EFZ, apprentices are actively involved in the manufacture of products and the creation of tools and devices for production.

In the first two years of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical fundamentals of polymechanics at our training partner libs. Subsequently, the skills learned can be deepened and expanded in the third and fourth years of the apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. At Hitachi Energy, apprentices work on commissioning machines, planning and monitoring production processes, or building prototypes.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend the vocational school for 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.

Plastic Technology

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Locations: Klingnau 
  • Vocational school: 1-2 days
  • Vocational baccalaureate: possible    

During the four-year apprenticeship to become a plastics technologist EFZ, apprentices work primarily with plastics. They create plastic products and plan the entire production process.

In the first two years of training, apprentices learn all the important theoretical and practical basics of plastics technology at our training partner libs. Subsequently, the skills learned can be deepened and expanded in the third and fourth years of the apprenticeship at Hitachi Energy. As a plastics technologist, apprentices plan and monitor the production process, develop customer-specific products and apply various manufacturing and processing methods. This includes, for example, the thermal and mechanical processing of plastics.

During their training at Hitachi Energy and libs, all apprentices attend the vocational school 1 - 2 days per week to learn the academic basics of vocational training.
