R&D Engineer - Control Development - IDC

Business Information:

Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification.  The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore.
IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Mission Statement:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team of R&D Engineers.

A person interested in the field of power electronic converters and contribute towards global R&D projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You bring broad knowledge in the field of controls design, power electronics as an experienced control engineer for power electronics.

  • Development of control/Protection software in MACH control platform and MATLAB Simulink.

  • Documentations for control software like concept documents, test reports and other supporting documents part of development.

Your Background:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and control system.

  • Industry experience with power converters, control systems design and real-time control software.

Specific skills and Knowledge:

  • Control software design experience in MACH control platform, MATLAB/Simulink, or other control platforms.

  • Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD would be an advantage.

  • Python programming would be an advantage.

  • Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills.

  • Experience working in an Agile development team would be an advantage.

  • Eagerness for learning and innovation, the readiness of mind for the use of various new tools for developments tasks but also for collaborating with the team efficiently.

  • You like to work in multicultural/international environment.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
