Join our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Zurich-Oerlikon as an R&D Engineer in Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Technology Development. How you’ll make an impact

  • Development of gas-insulated switchgear with a focus on SF6 alternative gases and high voltage equipment

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners during technology and product development

  • Organization of development & type test series (high power, high voltage, high current, mechanical, or environmental, etc.) according to international standards in GIS product development projects and for customer qualification

  • Collaboration with internal and external laboratories

  • Summarize development results in technical reports, presentations, and design guidelines

  • Participate in complex quality cases and continuous improvement activities
     

Your background

  • Electrical engineer, physicist, mechanical engineer, or related fields with professional experience; a PhD will be also considered as working experience

  • Experience in high-voltage switchgear development is an advantage

  • Team player with a creative, independent, and solution-oriented approach

  • Proficient in English; German is an advantage

  • Good communication skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment

  • Project leader skills or willingness to acquire them

  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%
