Electrical Design Engineer for Power Transformers

We are looking for Electrical Design Engineer with preferably 1 or 2 years of experience as a designer. This role will be based in Córdoba, Spain where Hitachi Energy has a factory focused on core and shell type transformers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will learn what our Customers want and how a Shell Power Transformers shall be designed and manufactured to meet their requirements.

  • You will work together with other functions like Sales, Project Management, Procurement, Operations, etc… to successfully execute the assigned projects.

  • You will have many opportunities to meet and interact with our customers, for example providing technical support to our sales department during the negotiation phase or conducting design reviews after the order is acquired

  • You will have access to the knowledge of our experts, both in Cordoba and in our extended Hitachi Energy network

  • You will use advanced simulation tools to solve various types of technical challenges, spanning over different branches of physics (e.g. dielectric, magnetic, thermal and mechanical design)

  • You will work in a structured way and be responsible for the Transformer design and cost, preparing several Engineering documents, like technical specifications and reports based on established formats and instructions.

  • You will participate in the resolution of technical problems and learn how to systematically apply the most appropriate methods to overcome them.

  • Your ideas will be listened and valued, and you will be able to propose improvement to our products, processes and tools.

Your background:

  • Master’s degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, industrial engineering or engineering physics. Electrical knowledge is required.

  • Around 2 years of professional experience working with transformers is preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong Team player

  • Spanish and English fluent or mother tongue

  • Sole responsibility for technical solutions , independence, resolution, open mind set and flair for innovation and business.

  • Strong PC Knowledge and capability in 3D modelling package is a plus
