Quality Engineer

General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Quality Engineer for Power Transformer, Crystal Springs, Mississippi location. This position will provide key support to the Factory Quality Manager and will drive the implementation of quality activities and methods to develop a prevention-based quality management system.  

Your Responsibilities:

  • Follow safe work practices, comply with policies and procedures, proper and safe use of equipment and tools, and identify and report unsafe working conditions.
  • Perform statistical evaluation to validate and improve quality control measures for production.
  • Develop and maintain process flow charts, control plans, PFMEA, and MSA throughout the manufacturing process and audit to ensure effectiveness.
  • Lead and participate in root cause investigations and analysis, determine, and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Calibration of Quality and Test equipment and follow up for due date of calibration.
  • Ensures that processes comply with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Ensure adherence to and drive improvement in conformance to ISO 9001:2015, CSA N299.3 standards and ASME, ASTM, IEC, IEEE product specifications. Contribute to change control, document control, design reviews and design documentation.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as required.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial engineering-oriented discipline.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • 5+ years of professional experience working in engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with transformer systems and/or related technologies (e.g. electromagnetics / magnetics, induction systems, power electronics, power products, inverters, etc.).
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Recent professional experience working in Quality Engineering functions in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g. Kaizen, FMEA, DMAIC, Gemba, Root-Cause Analysis etc.).
  • Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Proficiency in MS Office 365, including intermediate and advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Minitab, SharePoint, Power BI, and SAP is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
