Energy and Digital World 75 (EDW75), our flagship experiential event, represents our commitment to advancing energy transition for India’s net zero journey as we build synergies to accelerate new energy integration, strengthening sustainable electrification across key & emerging sectors while co-creating services and bringing in digitalization.
Over two days in India's vibrant and historically significant capital city of New Delhi, the symposium is expected to have over 2000 guests in attendance including global thought leaders, dignitaries and pioneers who have been leading conversations around energy & sustainability at an international level. The event will showcase our expansive portfolio of technologies and products and will also feature a range of exclusive new launches which are set to revolutionize the course of the country’s energy transition journey. All of this will be presented through a unique experiential format which will allow guests to interact in new & exciting ways with these products such as our one-of-a-kind Digital Twin platform.
At the heart of this event is our vision to contribute to India becoming a global center of excellence and it will be a showcase of our alignment with the Made in India, Made for the World vision outlined by the Government of India. To make this vision a reality and foster increased collaborations, we will also be bringing our key suppliers to this event with a view to expand and fortify our supplier base and streamlining supply chain relations for the future. Our partners and suppliers have been instrumental in their support to our vision and this celebration of 75 years would be incomplete without their presence.
EDW75 promises to be an exciting showcase of our vision for India’s sustainable, flexible and secure energy future and will set the tone for Hitachi Energy’s long standing journey in the country.

Tracing our 75-year journey in India
Hitachi Energy has always been at the forefront of key nation building initiatives in India and 2024 marks 75 years of our presence in the country.
After starting operations in 1949 we established our first factory in Vadodara in 1962, which we have expanded and modernized over the years and today our three manufacturing locations in Gujarat account for the bulk of our offerings. Today we have over 7,300 employees across 19 factories in eight manufacturing locations, common shared services and a global technology and innovation center - a reflection of our commitment to Make in India – for India & the world.
We are also proud to have introduced HVDC technology to India. We have the distinction of pioneering this technology and today more than half the HVDC links in India are leveraging this innovative solution.
In the transport sector, we have partnered with Indian Railways to indigenously develop Scott Transformers that will be central to powering high-speed rail and over 90% of the metro rail systems in the country deploy our power automation.
And it is now time to set the stage for the future of India’s net zero ambitions.
F for Fun, Family, Festivity & Fiesta
As the nation celebrated its 78th Independence Day, the Hitachi Energy family, across locations in India, came together to uphold the spirit of what it means to be family. Our first Family Fiesta was a unique addition to the calendar of events surrounding our 75-year celebrations as we opened our doors, for the very first time, to the families of our employees. Offices and factories were decked up and our employees, with their loved ones, added to the colors and festivity. At Opus, the flag hoisting and official inauguration of the event was done by N Venu, MD & CEO, Hitachi Energy India, and other locations joined in via video conferencing. The rest of the day was replete with cultural activities where our employees showcased their myriad talents alongside game & food stalls, photobooths and kiosks from small businesses.
It was all about spreading good vibes as families joined us at our offices and factories across India.
Creating more conversations
Finally, closer home, we led several conversations around these celebrations with our first ever Energy Run event at Bengaluru where we’re headquartered. Over 2000 members of the Hitachi Energy family joined us in a show of passion, dedication and fraternal spirit. We kept our employees interested in the future of science and technology with Tech Talks – an expert led platform which saw participation from over 900 employees. Our Human Resources team launched and led roadshows across locations to showcase our far reaching HR capabilities which can holistically help business units set the stage to reach our 2030 goals.

Responsible always
And it didn’t end there. Giving back to the earth has been at the forefront of our endeavors and, coinciding with World Environment Day 2024, we launched a campaign to plant 75,000 saplings across the country in association with schools and colleges.

Celebrating seven decades with our partners!
This included engaging with our customers and partners through our flagship Energy and Digital World (EDW) events which have been convened at Hyderabad, Bellary, Jamshedpur and Pune. Our bonds with academia were strengthened through our exclusive university placement partnerships and we reached out directly to the engineering future of the country using specially crafted platforms like the Tech Colloquiums which were convened at IIT Delhi, NIT Warangal and Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM), Gujarat.

Our 75-year celebrations were launched with aplomb in March of 2024 with the thought of reinforcing the bonds that make us who we are and have helped drive our journey in the country over these seven decades. On this occasion, we unveiled our 75 year graphic icon which will be a staple part of brand communications throughout the year and will be emblematic of what we stand for.
Our future and India’s future: A blueprint
India remains a significant part of the Hitachi Energy story and we will continue to plan and develop several key nation building projects.
