As part of our ongoing celebrations for 75 years and pivoted on our emphasis on using technology to drive the energy transition, Hitachi Energy launched a new initiative, ‘Technology Colloquium—Technologies for energy transition and sustainable grid’, for engineering students across India. Through this new platform, we aim to reach out to engineering colleges during the year to talk about one of the most important and urgent issues of our time: energy transition and net-zero targets. The platform facilitates meaningful conversations and exchange of ideas on energy transition among young minds, subject matter experts, and Hitachi Energy leaders.
The first segment of the Tech Colloquium was kicked off from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM), Anand, Gujarat. Dr. Gerhard Salge, Global CTO, Hitachi Energy and Shri. Bhikhubhai B Patel, Chairman—Board of Governance, BVM, graced the occasion along with senior faculty members of BVM and other dignitaries. At the session, future of energy networks, technologies that will shape our energy future, the need for competencies and talents in education, research, and industries for energy transition, were discussed with students of BVM College and other colleges around four locations.
The Tech Colloquium then moved to the Indian Institute of Technology at Delhi (IIT, Delhi) and was addressed by Dr. Gerhard Salge, Global CTO Hitachi Energy, professors from IIT, Delhi and other industry & academic experts. At the end of the week, the Tech Colloquium was convened at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NIT, W) and was addressed by N Venu, MD & CEO, India and South Asia, Hitachi Energy, Dr. Gerhard Salge, Global CTO, Hitachi Energy and Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi Director, NIT Warangal among others.
