R&D Scientist in high voltage insulation

Mission statement:

We are looking for candidates for the position of R&D Scientist to perform research in the field of high voltage insulation. The specific areas may include insulation material, field grading material, dielectric shielding material, dielectric physics, etc. Background related with dielectric modeling will be a plus. You will be part of the Hitachi Energy Research team to develop cutting edge insulation technologies for power transmission and distribution products to realize the vision of a “net zero” world.

Your responsibilities:

• You will create cutting-edge high voltage insulation solutions for future energy application, such as material solution for clean energy, circular economy, etc.

• You will conduct R&D work in the technical area of material science.

• You will identify new ideas, initiate new research projects and ensure relevant IP protection.

• You will execute research projects as project leader or key project member.

• You will work with colleagues in Hitachi Energy Research China and global, collaborate and support business units in the material science and technology area.

Your background:

• You hold PhD with 3+ years working experience in high voltage insulation, dielectric physics or a related field.

• Excellent innovation capability and competence of application-oriented research.

• Outstanding communication skills, task ownership, and analytical capabilities.

• Capable to run projects independently with excellent project planning, execution and management.   

• Fluent spoken and written English as working language.
