Power Grids teams in Indonesia accelerate project completion during COVID-19 crisis
Amsu Haris, HV GIS Supervisor PGGI
As ABB Field Service Engineer, I had been working to carryout Dead Tank Breaker service work for Freeport in its mining area in Tembagapura, Papua. With the spreading COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, it is important to stay safe and healthy. Although it hasn't been easy to operate from this area whereby the weather could be foggy, rainy and low temperature, I managed to try as best possible to maintain my health and my stamina by eating healthy food, frequent hand-wash and keep physical distance. Together we are strong!

Topoyo 150 kV substation is one of ABB PG projects to build a new substation located in Topoyo, West Sulawesi, Indonesia. With the condition of COVID -19, it has been a challenge for us but we must ensure continuation of the project according to schedule. Here are some of the ways we have been able to successfully manage to ensure a safe and healthy working place:
- Stop incoming workers, especially from areas that have already been infected COVID-19
- Body temperature checks for each worker and guest before entering the project
- Available masks, hand sanitizers and hand wash facilities at all times
- Spray disinfectant on regular basis for the project area and tools that are often used
Together we stay safe and strong!
