A High-Five to Hitachi Energy Transformers Team in India: 5 Awards for Quality Solutions!

Hitachi Energy Transformers Team in India's continuous commitment to quality and Kaizen culture pays off with five prestigious awards. Join us in celebrating their inspiring journey of teamwork, innovation, and success!

Hitachi Energy's Power Transformer and Bushing Factory teams in India have made us proud by winning three Gold and two Silver Awards at the prestigious "Convention on KAIZEN & 7 MUDA's" Awards by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Vadodara Chapter. This achievement reflects our passion for quality, Kaizen culture and proves that when we take ownership of quality, success follows naturally.

The Quality Circle Forum of India promotes active employee participation and continuous improvement, which perfectly aligns with Hitachi Energy's commitment to Safety, Integrity, and Quality as our license to operate. This convention focused on Kaizen (continuous improvement) and eliminating 7 MUDAs (wastes) in processes.

The Kaizen Convention & Awards ceremony took place on July 7th, 2023, in Vadodara, Gujarat. Three hundred participants from more than a dozen industries such as Rail, Tyre, Automobile and Chemical presented their projects to the committee as part of the annual program, held under the theme “Achieving Quality Solutions for Excellence”.

Hitachi Energy’s projects were among the top-ranked by the QCFI Awards committee, with judging criteria emphasizing problem-solving methodologies, presentations, and communication skills. It's a true testament to the professionalism and dedication of our teams.

The winning projects that secured the Gold and Silver awards are as follows:

Gold Award Projects:

• Power Transformers Factory team: "Reducing breakdowns in OIL treatment machine" project (Rajesh Jadav, Mitesh Shah, Vijay Ghule)
• Power Transformers Factory team: "Reducing setup time for short duration heat run test from 09 Hrs to less than 01 Hr." project (Panjabrao P, Kripalsinh Parmar, Vijay Ghule)
• Bushing Transformers Factory team: "Reducing Tan Delta value of OIP bushings from Avg 0.5% to <0.4%" project (Jigar Dave, Neha Kumari, Akash Jagtap, Ashwin Patil, Kuldeep Rana)

Silver Award Projects:

• Power Transformers Factory team: "Reducing Quality issues in Paper Insulated Copper Con-ductor" project (Christian Joseph, Jignesh Parmar, Vijay Ghule)
• Bushing Transformers Factory team: "Reducing the Risk level of Top 3 activities in the Manufacturing process of Bushing from High to Low-risk level" project (Nimesh Rohit, Darshan Darji, Kuldeep Rana).


Commenting on this remarkable achievement, Atul M. Pandit, Head of Transformers from Hitachi Energy in India, said: "This recognition from QCFI is truly a testament to our great work and culture of continuous improvement".
