About the business:

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Your responsibilities:

  • Defines jointly with customer, LSC, technics, quality and field operation which actions shall be taken. Check material availability with supply chain and prepare offers with sales.

  • Coordinate Material delivery with order management and plan site activities with field operation.

  • Leads Case team, establishes the case execution approach, execution planning and monitoring and control of both internal and external resources to accomplish all goals to support the customer fast, safe and with high quality standards.

  • Review of commercial status to define warranty case or offer.

  • Develop case schedule and freeze with respective stakeholders (internal and external)

  • Preparation of case specific risk and opportunities management

  • Coordination with LPG for material readiness and completion of FAT (if any)

  • Follow-up on Material shipment, material receipt at site

  • Coordinate with stakeholders for Installation, testing and commissioning at site.

  • Closely coordinate and document change requests related to case scope and get approvals for time extension, additional cost etc.

  • Maintain case progress in execution tool SOMA.

  • Case takes over, kick-off meetings, distribution of tasks into organization, coordination with LSC and customer, technics, quality, sales, supply chain, field operation, order management, controlling and management.

  • Main contact for customers in execution, leading customer meetings

  • Managing expectation of Customers across diverse geographies & cultures

  • Fast reaction times are required and internal stakeholders need to be pushed frequently.

  • Functional reporting will be from Chennai towards the GIS main office in Switzerland.

Your background:

  • Graduate in engineering with min experience of 5 years in execution Substation/GIS/GCB projects or order handling in any of power system OEMs with a min of 2 years in leading projects and ability to work in ERP environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge is a must preferably in GCB. GIS would also be appreciated.

  • Preference will be given to those who have completed PMP.

  • Should possess strong leadership skills and ability to convince stakeholders in the interest of the troubleshooting case.

  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver the projects with time, cost and quality.

  • Business English is required.
