Factory System test engineer - HVDC C&P

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

The technical marketing engineer for Mission Critical telecommunication Solutions (MCS) has the global responsibility to enable the Pre-Sales & Sales community of the different regional HUBs to understand technical market requirements for wired telecommunication networks and ensure customer interaction in line with global solution/product strategy.

Support sales organizations in driving sales by your technical expertise. Provide relevant customer & market inputs to product management and R&D activities, ensuring market alignment and relevance

Your responsibilities:

  • Execute the Factory system test as per the project contract delivery.

  • Follow the internal quality process & assurance and customer standards.

  • Ensure the test plan and testing procedure and process in place.

  • Ensure the material availability and initiate the procurement based future forecast.

  • Analyzing the risk and opportunities towards the project delivery.

  • Analysis of Control & protection design document results, validate the test results.

  • Preparation of Lab layout, cable schedule & termination details for FST integration setup.

  • Taking Initiative in engineering process optimizations, standardization etc.

  • Ensure the co-worker are trained in the process and safety norms.

  • Testing progress follow-up and manage the project schedule to complete as per the deadline.

  • Logistics coordination materials inwards / outwards to FST.

  • Closely interacting with project team and support the team for smooth execution of FST.

Your background:

  • Have bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering or Equivalent.

  • Must have work experience of 2-6+ years in relay scheme preparation, validation of protection relays, settings.

  • Should have experience in AC Control & Protection schemes, relay testing, testing protocols.

  • Testing using Omicron secondary injection test kit.

  • Power System fundamentals, Relay module & cards, Interface part, Testing method, Safety Standards, Industrial product knowledge

  • HVDC knowledge and experience is advantage.               

  • Exposure / Basic Knowledge in International electrical (IEEE/IEC) Standards.

  • Knowledge on electric power system.

  • Basic knowledge on software handling & Simulations.

  • Good knowledge of Office tools like word, excel, ppt

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
