Business Unit Sales Liaison - Grid Integration

General Information:

Utilizing critical market intelligence and expertise, supports the US Front End Sales (FES) Team’s Marketing and Sales activities, representing the interests of the BU in the US market.  The BU Liaison is responsible for the development of profitable and sustainable sales growth for the BU portfolio in the US, lead bi-directional communication, and aligning the local sales and marketing strategy with the BU objectives. In addition, monitors the target markets response to the sales and marketing efforts, performs analysis, administers an outside/in collective sales view, and provides appropriate feedback to influence current and future portfolio roadmaps.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze Market Size, Market Share, Market Segments, Economic & Regulatory Drivers, Applications & Technologies, Products / Systems / Services, Channels to Market, Industry Trends, Competitors, SWOT Analysis, etc.,

  • Utilize market intelligence against current and future strengths/capabilities in alignment with the BU/Division Business Strategy.

  • Lead overall strategic planning using fact-based impactful strategic insights and ensure translation into actionable implementation plans that will deliver profitable growth.

  • Lead Customer Focus Groups - Identify Market / Customer needs and preferences – Influence Product Roadmaps & Product Launches.

  • Define what is needed to be successful in local markets and work with BU Marketing to develop VBS “Value Based Selling” differentiators.

  • Work in tandem with Outside Sales resources (Direct & Reps), Channel Partners and End Users to influence specifications.

  • Drive Capture Teams, Must Wins, relevant pipeline management and support.

  • Provide KPI results for supplier scorecards with key customers.

  • Associations, Industry Standards Committees &regulatory bodies

  • Active presence and participation, influence standards & regulations, etc.

  • Budgeting - perform DOE “Demand Order Estimate”, MM “Market Insights and Market Outlook” process and lead forecasting for respective BU with Sales Leaders.

  • Develop and manage Sales Initiatives and programs.

  • Ensure necessary training and accreditation is provided.

  • Reporting, bi-directional communication between FES and BU, drive product development needs for local market based on product gaps “white space analysis”, internal tools and processes, cost allocations, negotiate pricing, after sales support, etc.

Your Background:

  • BA/BS in related field and 7 years’ minimum experience working in sales and marketing role, in-depth knowledge and experience working with Utilities and Industry markets in the US preferred. OR
  • Master’s degree in related field and 5 years’ minimum experience working in sales and marketing role, in-depth knowledge and experience working with Utilities and Industry markets in the US preferred. OR
  • Associate degree in related field with 12 years’ experience working with Utilities and Industry markets in the US preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Demonstrated market analytics and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills a must.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
