Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh - Human Resources Manager of Hitachi Energy Vietnam and Dr. Nguyen Quang Nam – Dean of Faculty of Electrical Electronics Engineering signed an MOU.

Bridging industry and academia

The MOU between the company and the institution marks the beginning of a long-term cooperation in developing and nurturing talent for electrical and energy industry. Under this agreement, some selected new graduate students of this faculty will join Hitachi Energy’s internship and post-graduate programs to gain hands-on knowledge at the state-of-the-art transformers factory in Bac Ninh. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Human Resources Manager of Hitachi Energy Vietnam, emphasizes that these programs offer the students opportunities to explore different roles across different departments and also contribute to global projects.

On behalf of the university, Dr. Nguyen Quang Nam – Dean of Faculty of Electrical Electronics Engineering expressed his appreciation to this cooperation program, which would help students experience to real world scenarios, helping them bridge the gap between theory and practice. By participating in Hitachi Energy’s programs, students can identify areas where they need development and prepare themselves for the challenges of their future careers.

Unveiling the OLTC

After the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Phuong, Transformers Factory Operations Director of Hitachi Energy Vietnam and Dr. Nam, Faculty Dean unveiled the OLTC to teachers and students. Mr. Nguyen Viet Phuong said this donation reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to education and investment in the next generation of leaders. It was also a great opportunity to engage with young and talent engineers of HCMUT.

The OLTC is now a part of the compulsory subject of “Power plants and Transformer stations". Practical hands-on experience of this modern technology and how it operates within a transformer will help graduates are well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges in the power industry.

After the training, the Hitachi Energy Vietnam provided the young talent an overview of Hitachi Energy’s footprint in Vietnam, its solutions and cutting-edge products. In-depth lectures on grids, electrical products, and engineering insights were also among favorite topics. Also on this occasion, Hitachi Energy brought students a vision to their career path with our Power+ early career framework.

A Second Gift

This wasn’t the first time Hitachi Energy Vietnam has made such a contribution.  Last year in December, Hitachi Energy Vietnam also gifted Electric Power University an OLTC, along with an on-site training session to the students.

In summary, this collaboration between Hitachi Energy Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh University of Technology exemplifies the company’s dedication to education, innovation, and empowering the next generation of engineers. The OLTC donation is more than just equipment; it’s an investment in Vietnam’s bright future leaders and a sustainable energy future.
