Meet us in Brussels

From the 7th - 12th October 2023, the transportation community will come together at this year’s Busworld Europe in Brussels and we’d be delighted to see you there.

Now more than ever, the public transit sector has never been more committed to reducing CO₂ emissions as Transport Operators seek sustainable options that connect their communities across all modes - whether that be rail, eMobility, air or marine – which can be scaled across cities and regions with solutions in electrification and digitalization.

Rapid urbanization, growing passenger numbers and the journey to net zero has accelerated the need for sustainable transportation options that are greener, cleaner and quieter…and we’re here for it.

We’re proud to have been a pioneer in urban transportation for more than a century and at the forefront of change across the transportation industry. From electrification to digitalization solutions, we have worked with our partners to bring game-changing innovations to their operations and we don’t intend to slow down any time soon.

Hitachi Energy – transporting people from their home to their final destination. Are you ready to jump onboard with us?

Come along to Hall #11, Booth 1190b to see what we’ve been working on!

Session 2: Digital Operational Excellence via Telematics
Vehicles are tracked and traced, analysed for their technical status and health and even remotely controlled and activated. Ridership and driver behaviour is monitored. Immediate intervention is made possible if needed. Route optimalisation is introduced. Cost savings, quality improvement and sustainability goals are targeted.

Session 3: Smart Energy Management When Deploying Electric Buses
The implementation of electric buses needs a more significant control of the energy costs by the operator. Other than the diesel price, the price for electricity fluctuates from minute to minute. The time of charging the vehicles, including own electricity production or implementing stationary electricity storage will have a decisive effect on the energy cost of a bus operator. Taking the planning, timing and route schedules of the buses into account to calculate the energy needs for the day, and choosing the energy source (grid, battery, own production) at each minute in the charging process, becomes an extremely complicated process. Smart Energy Management systems will have a most important role in this. Bus companies who best control their energy consumption will be in the lead to win the tenders and be more competitive.

Digitalization empowers smart cities

Cities are growing. Passenger numbers are rising. And travel has resumed post-covid. All of this drives the public sector to think about its carbon impact and find ways to move people using cleaner, greener energy. The transportation infrastructure of the future is becoming more complex, and the urgency for this transition is increasing. Digitalization is the only way to manage the complexity around sustainable mobility.

We believe in empowering cities with pioneering digital solutions that help solve real-world public transportation challenges while accelerating the energy transition.
