(1/8) 2016-09-22 – The Power Grids division in Indonesia conducted a technical colloquium with PT PLN (Persero), the country’s national utility to highlight ABB’s technologies for grid strengthening and modernization in Bandung, on September 22.
(2/8) At the inaugural session, Richard Ledgard, Managing Director, ABB Indonesia said, “PLN is without a doubt one of our most important customers in Indonesia. As pioneers in this field, they have been instrumental in shaping the very power landscape of the nation, and as such have always been involved in bringing new technologies that can strengthen the grid, or take the next step in the grid evolution. PLN continues this drive towards nation building with the target to achieve 35GW capacity for Indonesia. We appreciate their confidence in ABB, and look forward to partnering in this goal. We will build on the relationships and discussions we have had in this workshop.”
(3/8) The session followed with presentations from Eko Y. Pramono, GM PLN P2B which presented, “Managing Power Grids & building Grid of future - Sharing worldwide view & ABB Expertise in maintaining existing grid and building Grid of Future.”
(4/8) They keynote address was delivered by N. Venu, Lead Division Manager – Power Grids, South Asia Middle East and Africa, who said, “The Power Grids division continues to drive profitable and sustainable growth by pursuing customer value. ABB is well positioned in Indonesia to bring technologies and solutions from source to socket that serve the market. Besides our core technologies in strengthening the grid such as HVDC technology, GIS and AIS, we also have expertise in grid automation, enterprise software and power quality solutions. We also see great potential for Microgrids – Indonesia’s island topography and industries such as food processing and mining are definitely areas where the benefit of self-contained grids are appreciated.”
(5/8) The technical colloquium was conducted along with PLN is a firm demonstration of ABB’s commitment towards customer intimacy. PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) is an Indonesian state-owned company tasked with supplying the electricity needs of the Indonesian people and the only fully-integrated power utility company in Indonesia.
(6/8) Over 130 decision-makers and power technology experts from various utilities of PLN Indonesia archipelago, along with a delegation from ESDM (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) gathered in Bandung, Indonesia for the ‘ABB and PLN technical colloquium’.
(7/8) The participants were able to listen and interact with their peers and with ABB’s management and technology experts in plenary sessions and 12 technical sessions.
(8/8) The event was rounded off with a gesture of appreciation from Eko Y. Pramono, GM PLN P2B who handed a placard to Richard Ledgard, Managing Director of ABB in Indonesia.
