Hitachi Energy and ITB collaborates to drive innovation and technology

Hitachi Energy Indonesia recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) at the ITB Rectorate Building, Jalan Tamansari, Bandung.

The MoU was signed by ITB Rector, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., and Hitachi Energy Indonesia Country Managing Director, Predrag Grupkovic.

This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the academic field, as well as encourage innovation and technology development, providing mutual benefits for both parties.

The MoU outlines various programs and activities that will be carried out together, including a new graduate recruitment program focusing on electrical engineering majors; an internship program intended for engineering, IT, and business students; joint study activities on power grid stability, interconnectivity studies, renewable resources, and other areas of interest in power distribution and automation. Furthermore, the MoU also includes support programs for factory visits, annual visits, job fairs, collaborative projects, and opening possibilities for cooperation in other fields.

As the largest energy user in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has been focusing on reaching carbon neutrality by 2060. Hence, this long-term goal requires industry-academia partnership in the energy transition. Hitachi Energy recognizes the importance of nurturing and empowering the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to face today’s global challenges. Through a strong collaboration with Hitachi Energy, the university education will increasingly align with the green transition thus providing students broader insights in business.

As the pioneering technology leader, we collaborate with customers and partners to enable a sustainable energy future, for today’s generation and those to come.
