Hitachi Energy moves UK main office to Birmingham
- The move represents a boost to new low-carbon economy jobs in the region
- Significant milestone marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Hitachi Energy in the UK and Birmingham region
Global technology leader Hitachi Energy has moved its UK main office to Birmingham, marking a significant investment in the region and its people. Representing a boost to new low-carbon economy jobs in the region, the move is a major step forward for the company in the UK.
Located in the heart of Birmingham in the Grade two-listed skyscraper Alpha Tower, the new office provides state-of-the-art facilities on the 24th floor, designed to enhance collaboration and foster innovation. The location was chosen for its proximity to key clients and partners and connections to employees.
The new main office opened its doors to the staff in March and will operate alongside the premises in Stone, Staffordshire, which will remain open. With around 600 employees working on energy projects in the UK, Hitachi Energy, which provides critical infrastructure for the energy transition and the electricity grid, expects the move to attract a wide pool of future talent.
“Moving to Birmingham is a significant milestone and marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Hitachi Energy in the UK as we embark on the growth journey. The location strengthens our presence in the Midlands as we continue to drive business innovation. We’re excited to tap into the exceptional talent pool fostered by the world-class universities in the area. The energy transition is more important than ever and meeting this challenge requires a workforce that can deliver. Our new office provides not just a physical modern workplace, but a hub for innovation and collaboration with our customers and partners. We are excited about the opportunities this expansion brings to advance our mission to create a sustainable energy future for all,” said Laura Fleming, Country Managing Director for UK & Ireland, Hitachi Energy.
