Sharing ABB’s digital expertise at Electric, Power and Renewable Energy Indonesia 2017

Highlights include technologies to enable a smarter power grid, advanced manufacturing, building automation, and process control & automation.

ABB will showcase a wide range of innovative products, systems, software and service solutions, at the Electric, Power and Renewable Energy Indonesia 2017 in Jakarta from September 6-9, 2017. Themed "digitalization-led transformation", ABB's presence at the event aims to demonstrate its pioneering technology leadership and its commitment to unlocking customer value while driving the energy revolution in Indonesia.

At the event, ABB will demonstrate the digital grids concept, including the products, systems and software that drive the digital transformation of the power grid. The event will also showcase ABB Ability that connects unified, cross-industry digital capability - extending from device to edge to cloud - with devices, systems, solutions, services and a platform that enable customers to know more, do more, do better, together. At the same time, ABB will also exhibit the latest solutions for sustainable and reliable energy for greener Indonesia. These include microgrids, a solution that is ideal to harness renewable energy in the country's numerous islands provide access to cost-effective, reliable and high quality electricity and HVDC Light® - the latest in high voltage direct current which helps integrate renewable energy sources from remote sources.

In addition, ABB will exhibit robots, smart sensor motors, and plant integration system, among other interactive displays at the booth, that will clearly demonstrate ABB's cross-industry digital capabilities, to help manufacturers lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In the area of home automation, ABB will demonstrate various solutions that will transform a house into an intelligent home, making many smart connections covering blinds, lights, heating, air conditioning, door communication and other devices. ABB will also exhibit centralized control and fully integrated automation that help customers' plant processes with a focus on safety, reliability, cybersecurity and data privacy.

"We are enjoying the next industry and energy revolutions where digitalization is opening a world of new possibilities. The productivity and quality of manufacturing operations is being transformed in future factories with the help of robotics, control systems, and predictive maintenance solutions. Similarly, energy infrastructure and power grids are getting stronger, smarter and greener. ABB, being at the forefront of these major shifts, will support Indonesia in developing and integrating all of these technologies into its infrastructure across the country to provide the people more reliable access to electricity," said Mike McNelis, Managing Director of ABB in Indonesia.

Indonesia constitutes the world's 10th largest economy with over 260 million people. Rapid economic development is driving the demand for modern, efficient infrastructure and ambitious programs are underway to add 35GW of power capacity by 2019. ABB's technological capabilities backed by strong track record and significant local footprint will continue to play a key role in supporting the country's impressive growth momentum.

ABB has been present in Indonesia for around 30 years, but its history traces back to 1920 when it supplied power equipment to the city of Bandung in West Java and Tondano in North Sulawesi. Today, ABB employs over 800 employees in Indonesia and operates from several locations with manufacturing facilities for low and medium voltage products near Jakarta and global software development center in Bali.

ABB (ABBN: SIX Swiss Ex) is a pioneering technology leader in electrification products, robotics and motion, industrial automation and power grids, serving customers in utilities, industry and transport & infrastructure globally.
