Meet our people: Antonio Solazzo

My name is Antonio Solazzo, and I lead the Enterprise Architects (EA) team in the Platform and Application (P&A) department at Hitachi Energy. Originally from Lecce, Italy, and now based in Zürich, I joined Hitachi Energy in 2021 as an Enterprise Architect for the finance domain, which remains one of my key focus areas. Today, my role has expanded to include architecture for several domains, including Finance, Legal, and Project Management. I guide a talented team of architects, shaping our target application landscape, driving strategic decisions across global functions, and representing P&A in architectural governance.

I have always been drawn to math, choosing informatics in high school and getting into programming early on. Computer Engineering felt like a natural path, but by the time I graduated, my curiosity had broadened, leading me to consulting and implementing finance processes in SAP.

In my work, I am passionate about aligning business and IT objectives to help shape a forward-thinking path for our organization. I find strategic discussions around our target landscape and roadmap especially rewarding, and I am constantly inspired by the opportunities to innovate through collaboration. Our EA forums offer valuable insights into how other companies tackle similar challenges, sparking new ideas and improvements within our organization. What I appreciate most about our team at Hitachi Energy is the openness and depth of our conversations. In one meeting, we might cover AI, enterprise architecture, and sustainability legislation. This dynamic requires both expertise and humility, as my colleagues are always reevaluating their perspectives - a quality I deeply value.

Outside of work, I love travelling and exploring new places with my family, playing guitar, and diving into subjects like psychology and language. Learning is a lifelong pursuit for me, sparked by the same curiosity I had as a kid when I loved figuring out how things worked (even if it meant breaking a few toys along the way!). This eagerness to learn and adapt keeps me motivated, especially in an ever-evolving industry.
