Hitachi Energy is looking for a Factory HSE Specialist to join our Transformers business in Vaasa, Finland. This position offers you the opportunity to implement impactful health, safety, and environmental initiatives while collaborating with diverse teams to drive continuous improvement. How you will make an impact

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Conduct comprehensive HSE risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards effectively.
  • Implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Develop and coordinate impactful HSE training sessions to enhance employee awareness and compliance.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents and devise corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate HSE considerations into daily business operations seamlessly.
  • Regularly assess HSE performance indicators and prepare detailed reports to highlight trends and improvements.
  • Design and execute effective emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure readiness and resilience.

Your background

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • A few years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within the industrial or energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing effective control measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Ability to analyze HSE performance data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Finnish, with the ability to conduct training sessions and engage employees in HSE practices effectively.
  • Good skills in English. Swedish is considered as an advantage. 
  • Ability to drive behavioral change and promote a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility.
