Rolling Out the Red Carpet for Hitachi Energy's Transformers Factory Inauguration

0:00/-:-

On November 28th, 2023, a new Transformers chapter unfolded as Hitachi Energy inaugurated its state-of-the-art transformers factory in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. This modern facility, specializing in liquid-filled power and distribution transformers, is set to nearly double the previous factory's annual capacity while adhering to the most stringent global standards.

Sustainability at the Core

This factory is not just a production hub; it's a symbol of sustainability. Powered by 100% fossil-free electricity, it stands tall with the prestigious LEED Gold certification – a badge to its eco-conscious features endorsed by the US Green Building Council. These transformers aren't just local heroes; they're global ambassadors, reaching over 80 countries across continents and empowering utilities, industries, and infrastructure sectors.

Grand Celebration and a journey back in time

Over 220 participants from embassies, government officials, business partners, and customers were treated to an immersive inauguration ceremony and a captivating factory tour. The journey back in time began with an interactive performance, showcasing Hitachi Energy's profound impact on Vietnam's energy transition and the development milestones of the transformers factory.

Country Managing Direct - Chandan Singh and Vice President & Managing Director, Business Unit Transformers of Business Unit Transformers - Bruno Melles set the tone for the day, welcoming guests and underlining how this investment aligns with Hitachi Energy's global capacity expansion plan to meet the surging demands of the energy transition. Bruno Melles  shared, "Today is a momentous occasion as we gather here to celebrate innovation, progress, and a significant leap into the future of energy transition."

Global Recognition

Her Excellency Ann Måwe, Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam, praised Hitachi Energy for being a true example of 'walking the talk' and contributing to the UN Sustainable Goals. Dao Quang Khai, representing the local government, acknowledged Hitachi Energy's relentless efforts in the province's development over the last 15 years.

In his closing remarks, Carlos Pettinau, HUB APMEA Manager, expressed gratitude for the collaborative journey that led to this milestone. "Today is a testament to the power of collaboration, co-creation, and your trust in our technologies and brand. The event marked not just a celebration but the beginning of the next century of success."

Moving forward with a groundbreaking solution for transformers

The one-hour factory tour wasn't just a showcase of our manufacturing capacity but a preview of the future generation of distribution transformers. The event marked the launch of Liquid-Immersed Transformers with TVP® Technology – a revolutionary solution offering complete protection against transient voltages, a game-changer for Data Centers, Solar, and Wind renewable generation.

Nurturing Future Energy Leaders

The inauguration event wasn't just about transformers; it was about all the bright minds behind them. We met with leaders from top Vietnamese universities, recognizing their vital role in providing talent to Hitachi Energy. Currently, the number of HUST alumni is approximate 150, from senior to fresh graduates, taking over multiple important positions in Hitachi Energy Vietnam.

Alice Hamman, Global HR Business Partner, BU Transformers, emphasized the significance of ongoing partnership in driving innovation and promoting gender diversity in a modern workplace.

In this collaborative meeting, where we explored growth and development opportunities for students in internship and trainee programs, let's recognize them as the engineers of our future energy landscape. They're not just young talents but the driving force, turning dreams into reality and paving the path towards an inclusive and sustainable energy future!
