Electrical Design Engineer - Auxiliary Power

General Information:

An Electrical Design Engineer - Auxiliary Power applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the design of MVS, LVS, Diesel Generator, Auxiliary/distribution Transformer & battery system
  • Knowledge of the design principles and applicable standards used within the technical field of the department
  • Preparation of SLD, List of loads/load list/feeder list.
  • Responsible for estimating material, equipment sizing activity (Diesel Generator & Auxiliary/Distribution transformer) and cable sizing (LV & MV)
  • Revisit the process and update the same based on the feedback
  • Coordinate with project teams to understand the updates required for the solution provided, & support PLM activities
  • Understand global standards and upgrade solution accordingly to utilize it for global projects.
  • As Auxiliary Power Engineer, you will be accountable for different tasks in a project such as Auxiliary Power SLD, List of Load and load calculations, dimensioning of equipment, requirement specification for auxiliary power equipment, review supplier drawings, FAT, cable way and cable design, installation supervision, and commissioning.

Your Background:

  • BS/M.Sc./Ph.D in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and ANSI/IEEE requirements
  • Knowledge of FACTS or HV transmission substation solutions is preferred
  • Experience in Control and Protection panel design is preferred
  • Knowledge of relay configuration is a plus
  • Knowledge of arc flash and short circuit analysis is advantage
  • Experience with ETAP is a plus
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the US.
