US Interns join Hitachi Energy in Ireland for six-week business programme

We are delighted to have four summer interns join us for a 6-week business internship and 2 weeks of intensive classroom work from the UCD Quinn School of Business.

The internship/work placement component has started this week and will continue until Thursday 1st August.

The students, based in Ireland at our Liffey Valley office, are studying business related degrees, in their second and third year in the US. They will be engaging in practical work experience across a range of business school modules, primarily from areas including Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Marketing, Business Development and HR.

UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business is delighted to partner with Hitachi Energy for a second year to host our Summer Internship programme students. This experience gives our students the opportunity to develop practical professional skills and fine-tune their communication skills within a business environment. Placing these international students in a company in Ireland also gives them the opportunity to enhance their intercultural learning and competencies - a valuable and necessary graduate employability attribute in a global business world!

We are delighted to host Interns from the US, allowing them to experience life in a real working environment. This programme follows on from the success of last year, and we are honored that the UCS Quinn School of Business has chosen to repeat this collaboration.

Providing opportunities for early talent by helping young people access careers in energy and understanding how they can play a role in the energy transition is vital. We need more skills, and more people, and more diversity if we are to accelerate to net zero and meet our 2030 targets.

We welcome them to Hitachi Energy and wish them well with their experience!
