We are looking for a skilled project engineer to join one of our business units. If you have the right skills and experience, the position can be defined as a Senior Project Engineer.

Are you curious, eager to develop a broad range of expertise, and want to contribute to smart, green solutions in a growing industry? If so, this role might be the perfect fit for you!

You will be part of a strong professional team and work in interdisciplinary groups delivering system solutions mainly for power companies in Norway. You will also contribute to projects in the transport sector and power-intensive industry.

Your responsibilities will include implementing technical solutions for digital infrastructure in protection and control systems. You will configure local SCADA systems, such as MicroSCADA and RTU, and design HMI interfaces for transformer stations. Additionally, you will prepare signal lists that allow the station to be monitored and controlled remotely from the customer’s dispatch center. You will participate in testing, both internally and at the customer’s site, collaborating closely with our test engineers during these processes. You will report progress and deviations to the project manager, assist with technical clarifications, risk assessments, and improvement efforts within the project. Customer interaction during project meetings, testing, and commissioning will be a key part of the role, with approximately 50 travel days per year expected.

We are looking for someone with a background as an electrical engineer or technical college engineer with relevant experience. Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-101/104 is an advantage. Experience with SCADA, RTU, LAN networks, and cyber security is also important. You are fluent in a Scandinavian language and English, with a strong focus on health and safety, and you must hold a class B driver’s license.

We offer varied and challenging tasks with great opportunities for personal and professional development. You will join a supportive and stable work environment where both colleagues and leaders genuinely care about your growth. We provide flexible working hours and competitive salary packages

The position is based in Oslo or Bergen, but other locations can be negotiated. You will report to the Engineering Manager on a day-to-day basis and to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager during project work.

If you have any questions, please contact Tommy Nordbäck at tommy-kristian.nordback@hitachienergy.com.
