From 20-22 March 2024, WindEurope will be back in Bilbao for a three-day conference and exhibition where you can join Hitachi Energy and over 12,000 of our peers as we take an in-depth look at the shape of European wind energy today – and in the future.
When it comes to wind, Spain is one of Europe’s leading lights. Not only does the industry employ 28,000 people in Spain and add €3bn to its GDP, but their ambitions for wind continue to grow, and wind is at the heart of their long-term energy strategy with their aim to build up to 3 GW of floating wind by 2030.
But if we are to bring renewable electricity to consumers across the EU and scale offshore wind to meet 2030 Net Zero targets, we must double our cross-border transmission infrastructure by 2030.
The urgency for grid investment is clear.
