My Power Grids Story - Nirupa Chander, Singapore
In Singapore, I am particularly proud that we are a fairly young team that has come together just in the last year and done some incredible things together. And the key to our achievements has been the spirit to win, a never-give-up attitude, and strong collaboration and trust.
We have had the privilege to build a unique identity and culture we have created as Hitachi ABB Power Grids over the last year. I feel that this spirit is now uniquely ours, fostered on pillars of strong collaboration and trust across all types of organisational boundaries.
Our commitment to creating social, environmental and economic value and leading the way in the energy transition truly inspires me. Everything we do today is helping shape the energy transition to a sustainable society.
We are leading the conversations with our customers to support development of renewable infrastructure, deploying new first-of-kind technologies and applications, partnering up with academia, start-ups, agencies, among others.
I see how in Singapore, we are not just a conventional supplier of technology but also seen as a key partner to help our customers define the future. Some examples are our recent win with Sembcorp for an Energy Storage System in a Virtual Power Plant application.
Apart from being the Country Managing Director of our Singapore business, I am also leading the Top Line Synergies workstream for South Asia and in this role, I have very regular interactions with several different parts of Hitachi’s businesses. Working with Hitachi, I am delighted to know that:
