Senior R&D Technician Power Semiconductor Packaging 80 – 100% (f/m/d)

In our R&D BiMOS department at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we are developing faultless high-tech semiconductor de-vices and power modules. Our quality products are manufactured in advanced internal and external production sites and then delivered to a wide range of customers worldwide for different industrial applications as well as renewable energy, traction and E-mobility.

We are currently looking for a motivated skilled Senior R&D Technician to join the R&D BiMOS Modules team, whose focus is to develop new power semiconductor module technologies and products for different markets from initial design phase till final qualification and product release.

Your responsibilities

• Coordination and execution of work packages within New Technology Projects and New Product Projects

• Build-up of prototypes for different development projects within different production lines for different project stages

• Creation and supervision of engineering lots and application of escalation whenever needed based on project needs

• Creation and supervision of failure analysis tasks as well as participation in root cause analysis when appropriate

• Creation and validation of process recipes for early-stage prototype build-ups

• Execution of pre-characterization tests for early-stage reliability and electrical testing (SAM, bow, digital microscopy, among others)

• Work closely with process engineering team and other internal organization interfaces

• Generation of internal documentation for development work and lessons learnt to maintain R&D quality standards

Your background

• At least 5 years of experience as R&D technician, production or quality operator in Power Semiconductor Module manufacturing environment

• Proven process experience with sintering, soldering, wire bonding, welding and other joining methods

• Proven sample analysis method experience, such as SAM, flatness measurements, contact angle measurements, pull tests, and other applicable tests

• Ability to work in teams

• You are an organized and structured person capable of supporting multiple projects at the same time

• Keen interest in high-tech products and complex topics together with the motivation to improve products through innovation

• Good command of English necessary, German is a plus.
