Anti-Bribery Management System ISO 37001
Integrity is a crucial part of our license to operate, underpinning our strategy, priorities, and how we work.
With this belief, Hitachi Energy obtained the certification for our Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO 37001), which includes 12 countries (Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and USA).
Bribery raises serious social, moral, economic, and political concerns, undermines good governance, hinders development, and distorts competition. It will destroy a company’s reputation and fitness to do business. It increases the cost of doing business, introduces uncertainties in commercial transactions, increases the cost of goods and services, and diminishes the quality of products and services.
ISO 37001, the first international standard for anti-bribery management, is designed to help organizations combat bribery risks in their operations. Complying with this, Hitachi Energy established the framework to prevent, detect and respond to bribery, to reduce financial and reputational risks. By obtaining this certificate, Hitachi Energy has proved that it operates under the global standard for best practice to manage bribery-related risks. Implementing the standard can also provide us with a competitive advantage and increased stakeholder trust.
Yet, it’s not about the certificate! Hitachi Energy will operate to the ISO standard and continuously improve its anti-bribery management system with relentless focus. We strive for an anti-bribery culture across the company.
