May 30 - June 1, 2023 | Toronto, Ontario, Canada

火, 30.05.2023, 09:00 - 木, 01.06.2023, 17:00 EDT
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites, 8500 Warden Ave., Markham, ON L6G 1A5

We are excited to attend EDIST 2023! We will be launching our CompactCool technology that combines the cooling mechanism of dry-type transformers and liquid-immersed transformers for optimized transformer footprint, reduced losses, and high power density.

Come see us at booth #102!

Introducing CompactCool™ Technology

CompactCool™ is a unique combination of safety, low maintenance, and reduced operating costs, all these with up to 50% smaller footprint than standard dry-type transformers. It leverages an advanced cooling mechanism where a liquid coolant is used inside of the coils to extract the losses out of windings and circulate them through an external heat exchanger.

Up to 50% reduction in the transformer footprint
98% reduction of cooling liquid
90% of the losses captured in extraction
Reduced power usage effectiveness (PUE)

Agenda

day 1
Wednesday 31 May
10:30am – 11:20am | Concurrent Session 4, Markham Ballroom A/B/C
Uncovering Hidden Danger Trees with Spaceborne AI
This session will present the main results of a pilot conducted with Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities (LG&E KU) which proved the effectiveness of closed-loop vegetation management resource planning by leveraging satellite imagery to predict and prevent network outages caused by vegetation, and more specifically from undetectable hazard trees impacting the lines. Algorithms were built to model industry regulatory guidelines for right-of-way clearances and Minimum Approach Distances (MAD). LG&E KU measured an annual savings of 11% in crew expenditures due to increased productivity and efficiency and a 39% reduction in inspection costs.

2:55pm - 3:45pm | Concurrent Session 7, Markham Ballroom A/B/C
Elexicon Energy – ADMS Enabled Operational Transformation
Elexicon Energy implemented Hitachi Energy's Network Manager Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) to meet reliability and sustainability goals. The ADMS enables operational transformation and leverages grid modernization technology. The presentation will focus on Elexicon's perspective of the grid modernization program and gradual ADMS deployment experience to meet the modernization target.
